Cockroach Control
Modern, effective cockroach elimination for commercial, residential, and multifamily properties.
Professional Cockroach Control in New York
Cockroaches — particularly the German cockroach — are among the most common and difficult pests to control in New York. They reproduce rapidly, develop resistance to pesticides, and thrive in the warm, humid conditions common in commercial kitchens, apartment buildings, and urban structures. CitiWide was among the first companies in New York to adopt modern gel bait technology for cockroach control, and we continue to use the most current, evidence-based IPM methods available. Our treatments focus on eliminating cockroaches at the source — not just suppressing visible populations.
How We Work
Inspection & Identification
We identify the species present, locate harborage sites, and assess conditions contributing to the infestation. German cockroaches require a different approach than peridomestic species.
Gel Bait Application
We apply professional-grade gel baits in key harborage areas — inside cabinets, under appliances, in cracks and crevices — targeting cockroaches at the source without broad pesticide use.
Residual Treatment
Where appropriate, we apply residual insecticides to harborage and transit areas, combined with insect growth regulators (IGR) to interrupt reproduction cycles.
Sanitation Recommendations
We provide specific sanitation and exclusion recommendations that support long-term control. Ongoing programs include monitoring and treatment adjustment as needed.

Common Questions
Why do cockroach treatments sometimes seem to fail?
Ineffective treatments often apply pesticides in the wrong locations or use repellent products that scatter cockroaches without eliminating the population. Our approach targets harborage areas with non-repellent gel baits, which cockroaches carry back to the colony.
How long before I see results?
Most clients see a significant reduction in cockroach activity within 1–2 weeks of the initial treatment. Severe infestations may require multiple visits.
Is cockroach treatment safe in a kitchen environment?
Yes. We use gel baits applied in targeted locations away from food preparation surfaces, minimizing any food contamination risk while remaining highly effective.
